Re: Namecoin is Prime for a 51% attack
Do you know if the 0.3.24.61 version has a checkpoint hardcoded into it, and at what block number that checkpoint would be? It does not have a checkpoint. I asked about if you could build because then you could add a checkpoint yourself. Oh, ok. Thanks, but I'll just wait and see how this all plays...

Re: Namecoin is Prime for a 51% attack
Can this be hardcoded into the namecoin client software? Please provide an updated client version that will revert back to block 19100 once this attack is over. Run a client that has a recent checkpoint and it'll refuse to accept any chain that was rewritten before that checkpoint. Are you able to ...

Re: Namecoin is Prime for a 51% attack
Can we all agree that we will manually revert back to block 19100 as the last valid block (before the scheduled attack that starts on block 19101) so that we can preserve all the honest transactions that has already been made? I bought namecoins with real money and would hate to see them seize to ex...

Current block number mismatch? [SOLVED]
https://exchange.bitparking.com/deposit says "current block count" is 135046, but my namecoind client says that it is 15428. Are they talking about different kinds of block counts or what? Shouldn't they be the same at any given point in time?

Re: Namecoin 3.21.90 releases + Must update before block 24'
Will there ever be an upgrade to the client software that makes old namecoins invalid for those that forgot to upgrade their client in a reasonable time? Is the same true for bitcoins and the bitcoin client? Not that I'm aware of since the "coins" are just entries in the block-chain database. At so...

Re: Official namecoin unit
I voted for NMC because I prefer it over NC and there was no other options in this poll. However if we can vote for alternatives not in this poll, I'd vote for XNC. Why? Well, standards are useful and makes what is being communicated more unambiguous and clear. Why not voluntarily comply to ISO stan...

Re: Namecoin 3.21.90 releases + Must update before block 24'
Is this board (Board index » Dot-bit Project » General Discussion) the official place to learn about mandatory namecoind client upgrades? I can see no "official announcements" forum. Maybe a mailing list? Reddit /r/Namecoin announcements? Will there ever be an upgrade to the client software that mak...
