Re: Difficulty has increased to 3767!
Look at the next difficulty, you will cry :p http://dot-bit.org/tools/nextDifficulty.php LOL, love it. That's one very short lived NMC mining career for those jumping from BTC. Definitely won't be more profitable than mining BTC, LOL Actually, strike that... considering the BTC difficulty increase,...

Re: Difficulty has increased to 3767!
Yes, there will be a major rush of miners on NMC now. It's actually been more profitable to mine NMC than BTC for a couple of weeks, but many were unwilling/too stubborn to move, and of course not many knew about NMC. That's changing rapidly. One upside to this (people who use NMC for domain registr...

Re: I can't get any confirmations!
Yes, only wallet.dat is needed (back it up) All you need is stored in your wallet. But, don't forget to backup regularly your wallet if you receive or send namecoins, or update domains, because that will generate new keys that won't be in your old wallet. quote of what Khal said on another thread I ...

Re: I can't get any confirmations!
this is just bizzaro.. is my NC install fooked? if so, how can I recover to another computer using my wallet.dat ? the dodgy transactions would go along with the wallet? To transfer your wallet to another computer, just install namecoin to that computer, then copy your wallet.dat from: c:\users\<yo...

Re: GUI miner trouble
Does namecoind need to be running while I'm attempting to mine? No, namecoind does not need to run if you are using a pool. It does need to run if you solo mine: namecoind -server But probably better off on a pool if you haven't got at least a few GPUs I've got 8, and I solo :) You do need to run n...

Re: GUI miner trouble
There are guides on the Bitcoin site. The mining software used for BTC (bitcoins) is the same for NMC (namecoins): http://forum.bitcoin.org Phoenix is the miner I am using: http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=6458.0 Download from there, and there's also info on how to use it :) Don't worry abou...

Re: Domain Name Speculation
Interesting... this could lead to a hell of a lot of problems. Not that anyone will be able to do anything about it. As far as I can see, there's no way to police what people do with these domains (naming or usage). I could be wrong. Imagine a Wikileeks where there was no way to identify the people ...

Re: Buying 21'000 namecoins
1 BTC for 525 NMC is way under priced considering the current market value, but then again, for anyone who happens to have that much NMC in their wallet, 40x $19 could be very tempting. Don't look at me, I've only been at this for about a week, and I only put my machines to work on NMC for 2 hours a...

Re: A lot of coins are lost, it should be changed
It would be more difficult to do that... And worst, you can just reserve any name you can with your namecoins (just spend 1000$ ?) and sell some of them at high price (because people want them), you are assured not to lose your money for other names :p. Squatter's paradise ! I think you misundersto...
