Re: Auto-pruning and transaction consolidation
That is certainly something to consider, given the need for light clients if cryptocurrency is going to become portable without the need for trusted third parties. I think we're talking about basically the same thing, just using different terms. The major difference is yours would happen "every x bl...

Re: Auto-pruning and transaction consolidation
Those are discussions from 4 years ago and they were talking about balance sheets kept by clients (which would never work). My proposal is essentially a method of summarizing the blockchain in the blockchain . (Initiated by the client perhaps, but verified and installed into the blockchain by the co...

Re: Auto-pruning and transaction consolidation
That is the gist of my proposal... but there would still be accounting for individual coins... I suppose I should fork both bitcoin and namecoin...

Auto-pruning and transaction consolidation
This started in The Great Aggregating thread, so I'm quoting some of the more salient parts here: It seems to me there might be a simpler approach to this than changing fees and slapping on band-aids. Pretty soon it won't be a block-chain; it'll be a bandage-chain. What we need to do is remove the n...

Re: Is anyone else having trouble with transactions finishin
It's still not even showing on the block-chain (I tried 3 different explorers), but neither did any of the other transactions before they just started showing up days later... I think all of the transactions that started all this mess have completed now... (nearly a week later!) It's showing in my w...

Re: Is anyone else having trouble with transactions finishin
If you increase the fee the tx should always go through in a couple of hours. Not true! As you may have noticed in my first post I said: I decided to send a single test transaction with 0.025 tx fee before sending the other payments, it has now been 10 hours and it is still at zero confirmations. W...

It seems to me there might be a simpler approach to this than changing fees and slapping on band-aids. Pretty soon it won't be a block-chain; it'll be a bandage-chain. What we need to do is remove the need for people to consolidate all their tiny transactions, by doing it for them automatically. Cou...

Re: Is anyone else having trouble with transactions finishin
I totally get it, but it still should not take 4 days for a paid transaction to complete! Even with Name transactions having priority, you still have to be able to pass coin around in an efficient manner to make the entire system viable.
